As part of the cooperation between Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and the Russian-Armenian University (RAU) in the field of educational activities, from June 17 to 26 in Yerevan, professor of All-Russian Institute of Physics and Technology Firsov Dmitry Anatolyevich delivered a course of lectures "Terahertz technologies" of 36 academic hours.
This course of lectures is included in the master's program in quantum and mesoscopic physics "Quanta", licensed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia. Well-known scientists from the world's leading universities are invited to lecture on this program.
Quantum physics, which is the subject of the Quanta program, is the physical basis of modern nanoelectronics, optoelectronics and computer technologies. New generation technology is based on the laws of the quantum world. There are high hopes that all these changes will lead to qualitative changes and growth of electronic instrumentation. Quantum technologies can be actively used in the military industry, in the development of quantum computers, as well as in cybersecurity, in particular, in encrypting bank data.
