1. Creation of new spectroanalytical instruments for physical electronics, electron spectroscopy and mass spectrometry based on inverse problems of corpuscular optics – one of the theoretical directions of the laboratory with wide practical applications in scientific instrumentation. The study of the dynamics of electrons and ions in vacuum under the influence of electromagnetic fields of various configurations and complexities, together with the development of appropriate mathematical tools combined with the latest computer strategies, allows finding unconventional approaches to the synthesis of instruments with high performance characteristics, distinguished by originality and patent purity.
Within the framework of surface physics, the electronic properties of reduced-dimensionality systems – solid-solid interfaces and contact structures – are investigated. The state of the two-dimensional electron gas on the free surface of semiconductors, in heterocontacts and metal-semiconductor contacts based on III-nitrides is modeled. Based on the concept of the natural size effect, the structure of the chaotic potential on the semiconductor surface and the possibility of localization of surface electronic states are studied. The influence of self-organization of interacting defects near the surface and in contacts on the parameters of semiconductor structures is investigated.
